Matthew 18

The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, "Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?
Jesus answered, " I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.

Komm kjikje: Prodigal Son pt 2. (Luke 15)

A bit more gloomy submission today. In the story of the prodigal son (Luke 15), The youngest son asks this father for his inheritance. That is something that someone would usually get after their parent had passed away, so to ask for this, was very disrespectful. The father relunctantly gave the money to him.

With his new found wealth, the son went to another country and squandered all the money on "wild living". After he was broke, there was a famine and had to find a way to make money. he finds himself a job feeding pigs.

Prodigal Son Pt 1

Today I continued my work on the prodigal son parable(Luke 15). For the first time, I worked on the background exclusively in photoshop. This is probably something that most people do. I can understand why now. It's a lot more like painting... and it may seem odd that Im only now realizing the usefulness of photoshop to this extent, but I've always been an Adobe illustrator type of guy. And I still am... but the thought of using PS to draw stuff bugged me. I wanted to stay in the vector world for everything. You could say that I'm stubborn... and you'd be right. I wish I was more open to new techniques in photoshop earlier... It's not illustrator vs photoshop, its using them as a team. Thats what will create the best result.

In any case, I'm quite pleased with the result, and I look forward to drawing more backgrounds!

Back to the Drawing board

As you can tell its been a while since this blog has been active. Mostly because I havent been active! Unfortunate as that is, things are looking up! I have begun a new position at Family Life Network as their illustrator and my first project is to illustrate the new testament bible story book!

Having a full time job illustrating has really been good for me. Obviously maximum time for practice and as a result I have been improving at a quick pace.

Look forward to more frequent updates! Yay!
